For many centuries was little material to build houses in Iceland, other than a small timber that arrived by ship. it was widely used stones, soil and turf to housing.

Life like Viking´s

Kvívík

Kvivik is one of the oldest settlements in the Faroes and excavations have shown the remains of Viking houses. On this picture you can see both old and modern houses. The Church in Kvívík is the center.

Vestmanna

Westman Municipality is in the Faroe Islands, west of the island Streymoy and there is a village Vestmanna. The island was based on the Viking time. The people who settled in this place is called Westmen.
