This summer 2012

Blue moon last august
The road is the road from home to home
                                                                Bird of paradise
The beach is a children playground but not for bikini people
No one can walk across the ocean, stop here!
This statue: The strong man "Grettir" in a battle with the ghost!
The sea in evil mode, no longer children playground
Walking past the wheel of time
                                                           Parade in the rain

Eyrarbakki in time

Modernity meets the old times. Electricity, and television antennas linking the old house to the world.

The old street has almost not changed over the centuries. Thus Eyrarbakki, always the same.

This old man is no longer collecting hay in his spot. But the spot is still the same place and some other old man will beat spot ever.

Last summer festival ended.

Many Icelandic towns celebrate the summer time and most of the town with one special celebration. On Eyrarbakki are three holidays during the summer time. First, early spring, so is the middle of summer festival. Last festival is in mid-August. Thousands of people visit this old 19th century town every year. Every house and everything has a great story to tell the next generation. Foreign tourists who are interested in Icelandic history and nature visit the town in summer as winter. In winter it is the major surf from the Atlantic, which calls for tourists to watch the great waves breaking along the coast.
